Election Voting and Candidacy Requirements

Article 7
VOTING PRIVILEGE

7.1 Team members will receive voting privilege in LIA’s general assembly and in the elections when:

  1. 7.1a  The team member is over the age of majority in his/her nation of origin.

  2. 7.1b  The team member has been active in at least two [2] team-meetings.

Article 8
NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS FOR TEAM LEADERSHIP

  1. 8.1  Team leadership is elected for a six [6] month term.

    1. 8.1a  Elections must take place the first of the month on a staggered schedule.

    2. 8.1b  One Election at one time.

  2. 8.2  At team meetings, its possible to nominate yourself for a chair position if the following prerequisites have been met:

    1. 8.2a  The team member nominated has been active in at least ten [10] team-meetings.

    2. 8.2b  The team member nominated has been an active member of LIA for at least three [3] months.

8.2c The team member nominated has a recommendation by another member of the relevant team.

  1. 8.2d  The team member nominated files the required paperwork (Legal name of the chair candidate, recommendation by another team member) with the Board of Directors at least one [1] week before the election.

  2. 8.2e  The team member nominated doesn't hold other leadership positions in political or activist groups.

8.3 Vice-chairs are appointed by the Chair after the election.

8.3a Chair candidates are required to announce who they intend to appoint as Vice-chair before the elections.

8.3aI Chairs may announce intent to appoint the candidate who receives the second most votes in the election.

8.4 The team members will elect the Chair for their team, by electronic Condorcet vote in the team- meeting scheduled for this purpose.

Article 9
NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS FOR ANCILLARY PERSONNEL OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

9.1 The President shall be elected by electronic condorcet vote in the general assembly.

9.1a The President is elected for a six [6] month term.

  1. 9.2  At the general assembly, its possible to nominate yourself for the position of president if the following prerequisites have been met:

    1. 9.2a  The member nominated has been active in at least ten [10] team-meetings.

    2. 9.2b  The team member nominated has been an active member of LIA for at least three [3] months.

    3. 9.2c  The nominee has a recommendation by another member of LIA.

    4. 9.2d  The team member nominated doesn't hold other leadership positions in political or activist groups.

    5. 9.2e  The person is willing to make his or her legal name public.

  2. 9.3  The Secretary and Treasurer will be appointed by the Board of Directors.

    1. 9.3a  Applications for these positions are open to any natural person that shares our principles.

    2. 9.3b  The person appointed must be willing to make his or her legal name public.
